“A Perfect Storm”

Published by Kevin Myers under Front page

For the past three years I have managed a department responsible for all marketing practices at Cold Stone Creamery and other Kahala Brands. This included; Research, Product Innovation, Program Development, Advertising, PR, Creative and Interactive Marketing.

Web 2.0 is now engulfing our lives and online experiences. Whether you are a Google, YouTube or Apple junkie, this version of the Web is practical and endeavors to both entertain us and make us more effective in communicating with each other.

I am now taking my cross functional Marketing & Sales experiences and combining it with my successes in several technology adventures to a company called iMemories.

AND NOW A BRIEF COMMERCIAL INTERLUDE:

www.iMemories.com transports old videos and home movies from any format into your own personal movie editing library.

The name of the company alone evokes a deep and personal emotion, your memories. Where are they? Trapped in boxes? Put away in yours or your parents attics, basements and/or garages?

The time is now; these memories are literally fading. Get them to iMemories where you can edit them, share them and enjoy those priceless moments that immortalize your legacy.

NOW BACK TO YOUR BLOGGING PROGRAM:

“The Perfect Storm” refers to a moment in time where my career can take advantage of recent successes with a brand that focused on the ultimate customer experiences and integrate key learnings and advantages of new web experiences as a vehicle to understand what customers need and desire. I will explore within this blog my efforts in building the iMemories brand and customer base though traditional PR, Advertising, Business Development, Viral Marketing and Social Networking to not only ‘weather’ the web storm but to thrive within!

From Ice Cream, with Love…

Published by Kevin Myers under Front page

Friends, family and fellow ice cream lovers…

Try as I might to create a catchy subject line that captures my mixed feelings since “leap-day,” I arrived at the five words in the subject that shares what amounts to the greatest professional journey of my career. I had the privilege to be associated with a product and brand that people worldwide have come to love… Cold Stone Creamery.

My days at Cold Stone & Kahala (the company that acquired Cold Stone in May ’07) are now over. Kahala will focus its marketing efforts within each individual brand versus having a marketing department that spans all brands for Promotions, Advertising and Interactive needs, this made my job dispensable. (who says having an extra day in 2008 is good?!)

As you all know my disposition, aside from being shocked, I left wishing everyone the best. After giving myself 24 hours to ponder, get pissed and pout, I woke up the next day with a renewed passion to take all that I learned, and all that I have helped build, to the next professional adventure.

This was also a time for me to unwrap a domain I purchased over 10 years ago (kevinmyers.com), and one I plan to use to communicate often with you all. I value your friendship, advise and stupid email jokes, please use the posting section on this site to keep the electronic part of our relationship going. I still have the same cell number and will send you all a note when I land with “the next best thing!”

Hello world!

The journey continues for Kevin Myers as I am in search of the next great thing to apply my passion. As you can see some of the magnificant brands that I have had the pleasure of living with, learning from and applying all insight into the next adventure.

But nothing could come close to the admiration I have from the most memorable brand of my life, my wife Wendy! Those that know her understand she is a walking example of branding as she has developed an identity that causes a deep emotional connection with those she meets.
